"Came from the Sea" is a film that portrays the wrath of the ocean and its creatures towards men, who for a long time hunted the creatures that came from the sea for their own benefit. Since it is a horror film, the dark and abandoned atmosphere was adopted for the art of the film. The story takes place in one night, where a newlywed finds himself desolate on a beach at night, then he encounters a creature that could be his greatest dream, but ends up becoming his living nightmare. The creature represents the spirits of the ocean, resentful towards human beings for a long time; Man, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The city of Imbituba served as inspiration and setting for the film, where we used Praia do Porto and the walkway of that same beach as locations. The walkway was the main environment, where we see all the chase and hunting of the creature, and the man's attempt to save himself. To create an atmosphere of memory, both of the forgetfulness and neglect of men, and of the revenge of the Sea, the catwalk throughout the film is taken over by elements that refer both to the hunt of men and to the creatures of the sea themselves: the sand of the beach, fishing nets, anchors, chains, shells, seaweed and even blood from other stories. The catwalk becomes part of the creature, the stage where its revenge and its hunt will finally be carried out and satisfied.
